Ibrahim Index: Overall gains for Uganda, but declines in corruption and public governance
Uganda has improved in overall governance since 2006, moving up by 3.4 points. It was 19th in Africa in 2015 out of 54 nations with a score of 56.2. It's also one of 19 countries that improved in the safety and rule of law category over the last ten years.

Government rolls out free wi-fi today
The government will offer free wireless internet in select locations in Kampala and Entebbe, reaching maximum speeds of 2mbps. It will be available between 6pm and 6am from Monday to Friday, and between 3pm and 6am on weekends.

The latest ranking of the world's top universities, released on Wednesday, places Makerere University in the 401-500 band of the 980 institutions ranked. Specifically, Makerere is in the 446th position in the Times Higher Education Rankings versus 407 in 2016.

The central bank’s stand against capping interest rates
