Kenneth Agutamba, Stanbic Bank Uganda’s country manager for reputation and corporate communication, has been named among Africa’s Top 100 Corporate Communication Leaders by Africa PR Week.
The recognition, announced in Nairobi, places Agutamba among senior practitioners selected for their work in managing organisational reputation and stakeholder communications across the continent.
Since joining the role in 2021, Agutamba has advised Stanbic’s executive leadership on communication strategy during periods requiring careful public positioning. His work has included developing the bank’s messaging around financial inclusion, with particular focus on outcomes for women, youth, and farmers.
He has also strengthened engagement between the bank and Uganda’s media ecosystem, contributing to more transparent and constructive relationship, as well as an accessible approach to financial reporting that centres impact on Ugandans.
Agutamba chairs the Uganda Bankers Association’s Peer Committee on Marketing and Communication, and sits on the Financial Fraud Consortium Technical Working Group, a Bank of Uganda-supported industry initiative.
He is a member of the Professional Public Relations Associations of Rwanda and Uganda.
“This honour is deeply humbling,” Agutamba said. “I dedicate it to the leaders, colleagues, and mentors at Stanbic Bank Uganda and the wider Standard Bank Group who have created the space to lead with confidence and impact.”
Africa PR Week is an annual forum for senior public relations and communications professionals across the continent.
