Bank of Baroda executive director resigns

Deepak Kumar Mishra, Baroda's former assistant general credit manager, will replace Mr Singh

Bank of Baroda Uganda on Wednesday announced the resignation of its executive director, Bhati Prithvi Singh, after more than four years in the role.

The lender, a subsidiary of India’s Bank of Baroda, recently appointed Deepak Kumar Mishra to the role. He joined the board on Tuesday, the day Mr Singh officially left the position. Mr Mishra joined the bank in September 2023 from Bank of Baroda India. Prior to his promotion, he served as assistant general credit manager.

By law, banks must have at least one executive director, in addition to a managing director, who resides in the country and is responsible for directing the bank’s business. Executive directors should be familiar with the bank’s long-term strategy and able to influence its policies. The executive director reports to the managing director.
